Questions

How much does a loft conversion cost?

It depends mainly on the type and the roof. A rooflight conversion is usually the least expensive, while dormer and mansard lofts cost more because they change the roof structure. Newer houses with trussed roofs need more steelwork than older open-rafter roofs. After a survey we give you a written, itemised quote.

Can you build storage into the eaves?

Yes. Our cabinet maker makes eaves cupboards, drawers and fitted wardrobes to the exact slope of your roof, so the space under the eaves is used rather than boarded off.

Can you add an en-suite in the loft?

Yes, where the head height and drainage route allow. We plan the en-suite with the layout from the start, so the shower and basin sit where there is enough standing height.

Is my loft suitable for a conversion?

It mainly depends on the head height, roof structure and where the stairs can go. We check this at the first survey.

Do loft conversions need planning permission?

Many fall under permitted development, but not all. Building regulations approval is always needed. We will guide you through both.
